In 1860, the Curtis family lived in Swanzey, NH.  Daniel Curtis, a 38-year old mulatto male, worked as a farm laborer.  His wife Hannah, a 28 year old mulatto female, cared for their daughters Carolin (4) and Lucy (1).  Both Daniel and Lucy were born in Massachusetts according to the census.  Their daughters were both born in Vermont, indicating that the family had been in Swanzey for less than one year.  

No information about the Curtis family prior to their residence in Swanzey or afterward has been discovered to date.

DANIEL CURTIS was born around 1822 in Massachusetts. He married HANNAH (b.1832). They had: Carolin (b.1856) and Lucy (b.1859).
